While I don't think of myself as "the black sheep of the family", I certainly don't blend in with the flock, as it were. So this is a great story to remind us how God didn't intend the world to be made up of -- or run by -- a bunch of silly sheep that produce only sameness and whiteness (now there's a loaded word!). Here's to diversity!
