My Can Lit teacher introduced me to Gord's music when I was in grade 9, and Lightfoot remained my hero all through high school. And yes, Marvelousinnature, I'm lucky that my blogroll is a bit shorter than some, and that the styles and interests of its writers are so varied.

Thanks for the information and the link on bird-friendly coffee. I'll swing by your site this morning and take a look. Maybe if I learn and experiment enough, I'll write a post on it one of these days!

Great choice, I like it! I think I would have trouble thinking of appropriate songs for everyone on my list.

I left a lengthier comment in response to yours on my blog, but regarding shade-grown coffee, try either Kicking Horse, which can be found in major supermarkets, or Birds and Beans, which does orders online or has a store on Lake Shore here in Toronto (as well as a number of cafes that carry their brand). http://www.birdsandbeans.ca/

Oh my, Aged Cat, I haven't heard "Daisy a Day" in decades! I'm feeling all smiley and sniffly already, and I haven't even had my first cup of coffee. I'm gonna go check it out now.

Dam, there's brine in my coffee. I think it was the window perch.

I found you! (The links to your avatar weren't working.)

Thank you so much for including The Aged Cat in your musical interlude. I've always loved that song! These were spot on. You could be scoring films!

Incidentally, when I followed one of the links to YouTube, I came across one that made me blubber. In a good way. Did you see "Monkeyless John, Molly the Cat and A Daisy a Day?" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV3VaUt4W9Y)

I've gotta admit, Right Blue, that "Calypso" was the piece that made me weepiest, and I was in a weepy frame of mind that morning.
"Chicken skin"! I love it! It's actually very close to the French, chair de poule, which word-for-word sez chicken flesh, but still means goose bumps.

I'm gonna hafta hawk out Cai's pedigree, Shelley, and have a closer look!

One reason I didn't include my theme song, Eyegillian, is that it's not on YouTube. I went out today and bought an album with it, and if I can figure out a way for everyone to hear it, I'll post about it.

Thank you so much for including The Right Blue in your musical interlude showcase, and your choice of "Calypso" for us is humbling. We just played the video and, as we say here in Hawaii, "it gave us chicken skin."

You live with the great-grandson of a celebrity and you're telling me that you haven't been close to fame ;)

Penny, Cai's great grandmother, was Queenie on the Shining Time Station special, Queen for a Day. That's where the photo of her with Jeanette Charles comes from - Jeanette played the queen. She was also in the Bell Canada Calling Card commercial "Daddy's Little Girl", and in commercials for Altamira Investments and Kellogs.

Donovan my wolfhound was "Blue" - the Labatt's Blue Light dog.
