Hint: if you don’t see what I saw, the rollover tag spells it out.

Well they say presentation is half the appeal.

  2. lavenderbay says:

Exactly, Binky! I thought I was being brilliant, using the espresso cup saucers for this tiny, perfect dessert, till I took a second look…

  3. Jayne says:

    Yes, exactly!

  4. lavenderbay says:

Ya just never know what to expect on this site, eh, Jayne?

  5. It does lose its appeal when you put it like that…. Was it tasty?

  6. Tony McGurk says:

It looked really fancy & yummy till I read the rollover tag. Now I’ve lost my appetite…

It was fab, Barefootheart, a little sweet to finish off a celebratory meal that featured Middle-Eastern food. Super simple, too: Slit a date, insert an almond, and roll the date in raw/Turbinado sugar.

I know, S. Le; next time I’ll set the sweets in our little white Chinese dipping-sauce saucers.

It was both tasteful and tasty, Tony, but guess who’s been doing most of the kitty cleanup lately? Don’t miss my responses to Barefootheart and S. Le for the recipe and the presentation improvement suggestion.

Simple to make & no doubt simply delicious

Dates have all the good qualities of chocolate (rich, sweet) plus about four billion times the nutritional benefits. Can’t go wrong!

  10. pennycat says:

awesome, all you needed was a big plastic scoop!! I love dates.

  11. Binky says:

Dates may be good for you, but they can’t compare to chocolate!! Sorry, I couldn’t let that one go.

  12. lavenderbay says:

Oh yeah, Pennycat, “Speak softly and carry a big scoop” — that was Roosevelt, wasn’t it?

No, my apologies, Binky, I should be more sensitive to other people’s religions on this blog.

  13. Martin says:

    mmmmm. kitty roca.

  14. lavenderbay says:

I guess you and Gordon will insist we go out for supper when you come to visit, Martin? 😀
